Our Story
Daniel’s sits at the heart of historic Genoa, tucked behind the Genoa Town Hall. While not designated a historic landmark, the property that Daniel’s occupies holds a storied place in Genoa history. A farmhouse that no longer exists was built in 1914 as a residence for Lillian Virgin Finnegan, founder of Genoa’s famous fall festival, the Candy Dance. Many years later the building became the old Pink House restaurant, and more recently a locally beloved restaurant known as as La Ferme. When La Ferme closed in 2016 the building sat vacant for several years, and by the time current owner Lois Wray purchased the property, it was in such disrepair that salvaging the building was not an option.
After over two years of planning and construction, Daniel’s opened in the fall of 2021, and stands as a homage to the previous building, with old Nevada farmhouse charm and a similar layout to the restaurants before it. Complimenting the ambiance is our country French cuisine, complete with an exquisite wine and cocktail list.
